i have made my own arduino uno r3. every thing is working fine but the atmega 16u2 which is soldered correctly but cannot program the atmega328. i have tried flip to upgrade firmware to atmega 16u2 it upgrades perfectly even the com port also appears but still i am not able to upload the program.

So it sounds like you built up an Arduino UNO R3 clone and installed firmware on the 16u2. What bootloader did you install on the ATmega328p? What are the symptoms when you try to upload a sketch? Do either of the RX and TX lights blink when you try to upload?
