The above error code appears in the IDE when I try to download a sketch to my UNO. I am trying to run on my new iMac running Mac OS Big Sur, can anyone help me out here.

There is a problem using Arduino on Big Sur. There is a solution I think, though I don't recall what it is. Try Googling the site for it - IIRC, Pert has posted about it.
