I think I have ironed out all my bugs with this library and I have made it available here if anyone cares to give it a try.

There does not seem to be any obvious way to create a folder structure on Github so my testing/example sketch is in the same folder as the cpp and h files.
You will have to manually create the library folder structure in the arduino folder.
