New post reporting

Why am I now getting notified that there is a new post when I am the one that just made the post?
Paul

Does it happen every time, or only with a specific post?

Good question. I will see if it happens right now.

@Paul_KD7HB I just clicked the heart at your reply #3, and then again to remove it. Was that enough for a notification without you seeing any difference ? Oops, now I have also used your username with a '@', was that another one ?

This is not a generic Reply, but a reply to your post #3. Was this another notification ?

I got the notice of you making this posting, but to my original reply to Pert. Nothing for the "heart".
I also was first to reply to a new thread and did not see a notice that I had replied.
Still a mystery, but will look for clues!

After meditating on the problem, I think it may be when I reply to a thread and leave the status as "normal" and then later come back and mark it "watching". I have changed this thread to normal and after replying with this text, will a bit later coma back and mark it "watching".

No, that did not do it. Perhaps it on a new thread and My post is the first replay. More testing!

There is a "Notify when liked" setting in the forum notification preferences:
https://forum.arduino.cc/my/preferences/notifications

I had it off at first, but then decided to turn it on to use as an indicator of which of my posts are still getting use, and thus worth checking to see if they require any formatting updates after the migration to Discourse.

That is a reasonable explanation for the randomness of the event.
I turned it OFF, and we will see if I see anymore occurrences.I have not see any more in two days, so let's assume that is the answer. Too bad the same method is used for all notifications. Confusing!
I will conclude this has been solved. Thanks.
