And nothing blank screen with a led backlight
Could be incorrect wiring, bad display, improper contrast voltage. A pot is a good thing to have for the latter.
- VEE i put that between a 10k resistor and a 20k resistor. that is okay.
Where do the other ends of the resistors go?
VEE the sense i don't have 20k resistors i put 3 in series. back one to ground front one to 5v the vee put went the first resistor after ground pin.
EDIT: what i mean is i put 3 of the 10k resistors in series. two for the 20k and one for the 10k

It looks like the character pixels are all lighting up, which is good. So, wrong contrast adjustment is a possibility.
Try swapping the 10K and 20K resistor connections, or just connecting Vee to GND or Vcc.
I connected it straight to ground and this is what i got.
Yaay!
But if i unplug the power and plug it back in. It's freaking out like this. But if i unplug the vee from ground and plug it back in it goes back to normal.
So here is my next problem sense this is a coding problem. not sure if i should start a new topic or keep this one. Because it has to do with this screen. Can someone let me know what should i do onthat?
