[NEW] The Simplest Way To Check If Your Arduino Works

Hey guys! As you might know this already, this is a very easy way to check if your Arduino works. You have to upload this code.

void setup() {

pinMode(13, OUTPUT);
}

void loop() {
digitalWrite(13, HIGH);
delay(100);
digitalWrite(13, LOW);
delay(100);
} |

This is like the Blink example, but I changed the delay time so your pin 13 LED flashes quicker. If it does, then congrats! If not try to find a way to fix it. Happy Testing!!!

This has been used as a test in many examples. If in doubt of working Arduino, reload Blink. If it is new and has Blink loaded already, change the speed.

Another common method of fault finding is using the serial monitor to print out the variables or a message to say where you are in a program. Don't forget to start the serial monitor and program correct Baud rate in setup().
If you expect to reach that point and do not get the message, you know where to start looking.

void loop() {
digitalWrite(13, HIGH);

int variableName++
Serial.print ( "I am at this point, variable value is ");
Serial.println (variableName);

delay(100);
digitalWrite(13, LOW);
delay(100);
}
