New tube of atmega328-PU

I just got a tube of these the same numbers as the one in my real uno these are strait from microchip and the dang things show up with the wrong id.
So I change that from 0x0F to 0x14 burn bootloader all goes good till I try to use one.
They now show up as a 0x0F

I change avdude.conf back to the 0X0F and they now work fine. Has anyone had this happen.

The Uno has a atmega328-PU the new ones say the same thing crazy. Huh

The bootloader doesn't actually send the HW ID; it sends whatever the bootloader was built for.
The 0x14 ID is for a non-P ATmega328. If you ordered ATmega328P-PU but got ATmega328-PU, you should probably complain... (although they're nearly identical for Arduino purposes...)

That's what I been reading but these are not from ebay or some where there from mirochip the people who own AVR now.

Error while burning bootloader.

I burn bootloader now it does this

I change it back to 0x0F and it works as it should.
