New user with a sketch issue

This is just a standard compilation. Nothing "manual" about it. The reason it might look different from the output you are accustomed to is because the "Show verbose output during: [] Compilation" box is check in the IDE's File > Preferences dialog.

Even though I think the verbose upload output should always be left on, I don't recommend the verbose compilation output for general usage. The reason is that the extra output it produces is not normally needed. The extra output can made it more difficult to find the useful stuff, which is mostly printed even with the verbose output turned off.

The verbose compilation output is useful for troubleshooting the Arduino IDE's build process, and maybe also can provide insight into the workings of that process for those who are curious, but you would get enough of that by turning it on temporarily for one or two compilations.
