Newbie could use some help

Hello guys, I have a project coming up and I am very excited and confused about it. I come from a graphic design background and am stepping into such a new territory. I am still a stranger to coding +arduino and that's why i would like to get feedback from here.

The plan is to build an EOG device that makes use of Arduino as it's main component. The EOG device would be hooked up to speakers that will play an audio clip once it detects Rapid eye movements of the eyeballs in the REM sleep state.

For this, I presume I would need the arduino UNO. Is there anything else that I might need for this project other than sensors as well?

What exactly is an EOG device?

What type of sensor did you have in mind to detect rapid eye movement of eyeballs while the person is asleep?

Why do newbies insist on jumping into the deep end without even having taken a lesson?

You either need to spend time learning the basics of C (Arduino code is C/C++) or you need to get a programmer.

You want to write a novel, get through reading Dick and Jane first.
