Hi, firstly I must apologise for my lack of knowledge, all this is magic to me.
I am trying to connect a Pro Micro to IDE and on advice loaded it as Arduino Leonardo and selected the port showing in device manager yet when i go to upload the void sketch for a clean slate it compiles but freezes on upload as if the arduino is not connected?
Please any help gratefully received

If it's a 3.3V/8MHz Pro Micro, you should not use it as a Leonardo; I know, been there, done that.
What does your operating system (which one) think of your board if you double tap the reset. Yes, I know, there is no button so you have to make a plan.
Not sure how but managed to get it all working, thanks for help
