Hey all,
Not sure if I have this in the right place, but I'm new to the forums and want to try getting into Arduino. I backed this Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/lightup/lightup-learn-by-making quite some time ago and never got around to doing much with the junior kit I received because I was holding out for an android app that never happened.
I unearthed the junior kit again wondering if I should try messing with it, donate it, or just up and recycle it. I decided I would try experimenting with the microcontroller first, but it's hard to find any info about how to use the micro controller. The kit I got is here, and the microcontroller chip is also here:
So far I downloaded the Arduino IDE and think the chip is for Leonardo. The microcontroller initially lit up upon plugging in, but I tried doing a basic project in the IDE to test, and now when I try to plug it in it says "USB device not recognized", "The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it." Has anyone tried using this microcontroller before, or know if there is anything else I could do to try and use it? Or am I better off cutting my losses, recycling the thing, and getting a new microcontroller?
