Newby with basic compile issue(s).

So I guess deleting my question/post is the way this forum communicates its beleif that I did not check the troubleshooting guide before posting here?

I sincerely did.

Where does one go for REAL help?

Here is the best place to ask questions. We get tons of posts from people who do not check the troubleshooting guide - and some of the people here are kind of short with people if they suspect they didn't. I used to be like that when I was one of the experts on the forums for another piece of software, but I realized that such behavior helps nobody and just feeds negative aspects of my personality - even when people haven't done their homework, I try to point them in the right direction. But I cant di that because you didnt even post your question!

IMO, the troubleshooting guide is pretty useless, as it doesn't really address the most common upload issues (I've seen people refer people to the troubleshooting guide for stk500 errors - for which it's totally useless!), nor the commonish compiler problems for which there are known solutions.

Thanks so much for your response.

I have been out of the computer industry for awhile....and thought-just asking would be okay.....

Several layers to "learning" in this new enviro.....

All your posts

I have noticed an influx of people complaining about disappearing posts (or threads?). If your thread/posts that disappeared is in above list, I suspect that there is a glitch in the forum software

I've checked your account.
You have NO deleted posts.
Zero.

Perhaps it got moved to a more appropriate section?

There was another thread (I think in the weekend) with the same complaint. I did check that OP's threads/posts and there were only 3. I checked a few hours later again after @pert posted an email with a link; there were a lot more posts.

Looks to me that the forum software has some kind of glitch.
