Nice little 'stick it to the guys with the small screens'

Try shrinking the browser window horizontally.
When the page hits a certain width or lower ( 748px from my fullscreen 1349px ) the text for the thread details increases in size.

It happens in both my browsers ( chrome, and IE 11 ).

confirmed for chrome.

Also happens on Firefox.

Ditto Firefox. Just another indication that things have become more complex than they need to be, as evidenced by the increasing numbers of unintended consequences and unexpected behaviors.

I have noticed in the last week or so that replying to a post on an iPad shrinks the reply window to about half the screen width. Thankfully I rarely reply when mobile but it's a pain you cannot see what your typing without trying to zoom in.
Could this be related?

Firefox 30. Does not happen. (Unless I misunderstand what you are describing.)

Yes this has always happened on my iPad but not on every thread.
It normally happens when there are long lines in a post without a CR.

I have taken 2 screen grabs and adjusted canvas size so you can see the difference when you flip between them.

Thankfully I don't tend to reply on an iThing and it's the first time time I had noticed it. Do you find it a PITA to log out as well? I tap to get the drop down menu but tapping log out usually activated the button underneath.

You log out?

I cannot observe the original complaint on Linux, but I do note curious behaviour on my 10" Windoze netbooks whereby as the page loads, it renders in a larger font, but shrinks as it completes loading.

That's just because the site uses fonts linked in CSS. They will load after the CSS and HTML have loaded, so a restyling is seen.

Oh, that. Yeah Firefox 30 does that.
