I was able to find the answer myself. After careful analyzing of the circuit (I'm not that good with them, after all :]) I figured out that nothing bad could happen if I try connecting it my way - and it works. I was able to connect to Consult via USB, read sensors, error codes, etc.
Makes sense. Now it's the time to interface it with Mega.
