Nixie Clock for hard drive bay

Good afternoon!

I have recently built a new computer and have sort of an orange and black theme going on. Because I have so many front bays open, I thought it would look so awesome to have some front-facing nixie tubes displaying the time. I will design and build the circuit myself, and imagine it will look a lot like the arduinix kit.

My question to the community is, what are some possible ways I can have the Arduino read the current time off my computer when my PC starts up? I am running Windows.

I appreciate any and all guidance, forum pointers, and experience.

Attach the arduino to a usb cable plugged into the PC. Write a PC program in your language of choice that reads the time and sends it to the arduino's serial port. Have the arduino sketch read the serial port and parse the time data.
