no monitor hex signals for ir remote

the monitor in arduino doesnt output any hex codes/signals for the following code.

#include <IRremote.h>
int RECV_PIN = 11;
IRrecv irrecv(RECV_PIN);
decode_results results;

void setup()
irrecv.enableIRIn(); // Start the receiver

void loop()
if (irrecv.decode(&results))
Serial.println(results.value, HEX);
irrecv.resume(); // Receive the next value

the remote works checked wiring for ir sensor no joy.
can sum1 giv me the essence of a sulution with minimal complexities plz.

I wired an IR decoder to my Uno and ran the code that you posted. With a NEC remote it worked fine. My suggestions are to verify that RECV_PIN = 11;, try a different remote (as I have had remotes that worked, that is phone camera shows blinking, but the IR Remote library didn't recognize them).

Please put code in code tags.

Did you verify that your serial connection is set up correctly...9600 bps at both ends.

If not...put a serial.println("IR test"); in your setup function, to verify.

Presumably, you ahve selected the correct COM port, if you managed to upload the firmware?
