No movement from motors

Hi all,

I've just finished putting together an object avoiding robot, power it up and there's no movement from the motors at all. The Arduino Uno is power up with it's LED's flashing away and I have the Arduino Motor shield on top of this which has a Parallax Ping sensor connect which is also lit up and LEDs are responding when objects are in the way.

Wiring to the motor shield is shown here:

The Arduino itself is being powered via 9V source and the motor shield has 6V connected.

I've checked all my connections and they seem to be fine, not sure where the problem lies if its in my wiring / power / coding or stupidity (or a combination of them all)

Any suggestions would be much appreciated as always.

edit

issue resolved - faulty pp3 clip was causing the issue.

I see you don't do anything with the brakes. Are you sure the output pins default the the right state to turn off the brakes?
