No port available for IPad Pro on Web IDE

I’m using the Web version of the Arduino IDE on a latest model iPad Pro. This iPad has a USB-C jack that can be used for 2-way communication. I’ve plugged in my Nano to this jack and it powers the Nano and the preexisting sketch runs, but the IDE doesn’t let me select a port. I select the drop-list above my editing area which reads “Select Board and Port”. It allows selection on the board type (which I selected as “Arduino Nano”), but there is no option or list for choosing the port. The right arrow (for uploading sketch to the Nano) is grayed-out/disabled.

I don’t have a working computer of my own, and have previously borrowed a MacBook to program the Nano, but now I want use my iPad Pro instead, but how?

Unless I'm mistaken, iOS will not let the web browser take control of the Lightening connector / treat it as a Serial port and you can't install plug-ins that would overwrite this.

so unfortunately I don't think you can.

stuff can probably be done through BLE or WiFi with a suitable equipment or preparation

see this app for example (never tried) https://apps.apple.com/us/app/arduinocode-arduino-ide-compiler-uploader-serial-monitor/id1068753028#?platform=ipad
