No port visible NodeMCU8266

Hi,

I'm busy with a school project where I need to scan the wifi channels around me.

Therefore I bought a NodeMcu ESP8266 OLED (unfortunately the shop where I bought it send me a fake one :frowning: ). I added a addition board manager and it worked out fine, in the tools -> board menu nodemcu 1.0 is visible. However there is no port visible to connect the nodemcu 8266.

Does someone know how to fix this problem?

There are two common causes of this problem:

  • Need to install the driver
  • Using a defective or charge-only USB cable that doesn't have the data lines connected. Verify the cable works for data on another device.
