Absolutely correct.
Morisch is the current flavour but I have had little experience with it, and that only with the HM-10. You don't actually need Morisch and I'm inclined to suggest you use a plain-vanilla terminal instead, just to ensure there is no procedural confusion... I'm sure the alphanum string is the MAC address of Bluetooth - which is of no relevance at this juncture.
If the terminal is in BLE mode, I guess (d) is no surprise. The ability to see the module is not the same as communicating with it.
I can't fathom your observation (a), you don't pair BLE devices, so it makes no sense.
