NodeMCU ESP8266 Not Recognized by iMac

Hi,

I got a NodeMCU ESP8266 with 0.96 OLED display which needs CH340 drivers, and has an ESP-12E WiFi wireless module. It has a micro USB connector.

I am running Ventura 13.4.1(c) on my 2019 iMAC and Version: 2.1.1
Date: 2023-06-30T16:00:43.829Z CLI Version: 0.32.3 of the Ardunio IDE

I have installed (and reinstalled CH340 drivers, and added:

https://arduino.esp8266.com/stable/package_esp8266com_index.json

to the additional boards managers URLs. I am able to select the correct board:

NodeMCU 1.0 (ESP-12E Module)

but no port shows up when I connect via USB. I have also installed the "U8g2" library.

I am using a known good USB cable, as it has connected another board for me.

I have read the trouble shooting steps, and also done the double reset. The board boots up, and displays the standard startup info on its screen.

Have no idea what else to try.

Sorry I was unable to use tinyURL with it successfully.
