NodeMCU ESP8266 without wifi can use internet with sim module?

Hi Arduino's community,
I'm using NodeMCU ESP8266 for my project and it is connected with WiFi.
I wonder If NodeMCU ESP8266 can access the internet without WiFi because somewhere doesn't have Wifi to use. And can I use the Sim Module to help this Node to access the internet?

Does anyone have an idea?

NodeMCU has the same I/O facilities an Arduino has. You just need to find a convenient SIM module.
