NodeMCU port not showing even after CH340g driver installation (Windows 10)

After buying a new NodeMCU and plugging it in the computer using a micro usb cable (The ones used to charge android phones), the arduino IDE does not show any ports. I have tried installing the CH340g drivers multiple times and every time it shows a "Driver preinstalled successfully in advanced" message, but the port still does not show up, neither in device manager not in the IDE.

The light flashes once initially when plugged in, there is no sound of connection or disconnection from the computer. I have the latest version of windows as of 25/07/2022.

Kindly suggest any solutions

Use a data cable, not a charge only cable.

Might be a very silly question but since we can transfer data from our phones to our laptops using the charging cable (type-b) shouldnt that work too?? I am using a type-b cable.

So, you tested the same cable that way?

As it turns out, I thought i was using a type b usb cable of my old android. But it was a charging type cable. I realized after you asked whether i had checked it that way. Thank you.
