Hello all, i wanted to ask the community if this idea could be in your experienced opinion possible. I would like to create for my own use a piece of hardware that allow electricity to flow when a noise sensor "hears" noise or other sounds and stops electricity flowing when for example there are no sounds for e.g. 30mins. Can arduino be useful for this? I was thinking about connecting a fonometer, an AC plug and an arduino one board. Would that be possible? I must admit that i have no experience on this field and i apologize for all the conceptual mistakes made. Any help and feedback would be highly appreciated. Thanks again!!!

The "piece of hardware" is a relay controlled by an Arduino. Yes, this is easy.
Thanks Paul for the quick reply. I figured it might be something elementary for experienced users. Do you think it could be possible to attach as well a wifi antenna in order to control the arduino board via wifi. If you could address me to the right pieces i will start this project straight ]

You need more than an antenna - you need a complete WiFi shield. Fortunately, there are several to choose from. Unfortunately, they are neither cheap nor terribly reliable.
