NOOB Multiplexing 16 potentiometers - moving one pot changes all values

Hi, first time multiplexing and am ready to rip my hair out. Could really use a hand :frowning:

So I got some 74HC4067 multiplexers in the post this morning and am having some trouble working with them. My problem is that I'm getting wildly inconsistent values; moving various pots seems to have a random chance of doing anything. When it does actually increase the value, most of (if not all) the other pots values increase too.
Example here when I rotated the pot on channel 15 to full: Pot Values - Album on Imgur. While I am still new to this I think I'm right in saying that I should be seeing this at 1023 while everything else stays close to 0???

I've tried this with everywhere from 2 pots all the way up to the 16 I currently have setup. Also have taken everything down and set it back up more times than I count. My setup diagram: Multiplexing Problem - Album on Imgur (black box is the multiplexer since tinkercad doesn't seem to have a mux object...).

Codewise I just copy and pasted codebender's MUX74HC4067 readAnalogSignal tutorial.

All pots are 10k. I have 4 of the 74HC4067s and have swapped them out. Getting the same issue so I don't think it's a problem with them. Thanks in advance

Never mind, either a dodgy mux or dodgy cables (probably the former since I swapped out all cables). Tested with just 2 pots and applied a bit of pressure downwards on the pins going into it (even though they're seated fairly snugly) and they started showing.

I'm glad you got it sorted because there was no way for us to help you, from your post. Next time you need help, please read the forum guide first.
