G'Day All,
I've just got a couple of boards, a duemilanove and and an ATmega 1200-16AU.
I've downloaded the software pack in the 0018.zip file and extracted it.
When I try to install the drivers I get the "Software not found" error message, I'm pointing it to the FDTI USB driver dir but that's it!!
I've tried it in XP pro and Win7.
I can see it come up in the USB controllers in Device Manager as "USB serial converter' and also in "Other devices" as DNS-323 but when I try to update the driver I get the message "Cannot find file". So can anyone tell me the name of the file that should be in the FDTI Drivers dir ?? or any other help on this please??

If it (whatever "it" is) shows up in Device Manager, it means that there is a device driver installed, and that the device is recognized.
Why are you trying to install a driver that (apparently) is already installed?
Because I'm trying to get the thing working.
There is an error message refering to the serial converter, further I get the message that there are no drivers installed.
I've fixed up the driver installations (missing files from zip extract, they all then installed OK) but now I have the "avr-gcc: CreateProcess: No such file or directory" error when I try to compile a sketch (blink).
Is this a path problem? (the file is in 'arduino-0018\hardware\tools\avr\bin'. I cant get much from the replies to others on this one.

I had the arduino dir inside another, now all sorted.
