Not able to find Adafruit flora board in Arduino IDE V1.6.8 under board manager!

HI Everyone,

I have installed Arduino IDE v1.6.8 and trying to code Adafruit FLora board , but am not able to see the option Adafruit FLora board under board manager option. I also watched link saying how to add third party boards in arduino ide , but when i try to follow that , there is no option to select third party boards ("contributed" as mentioned in the link).

Please help me out from this problem as I am stuck at initial step and not able to go ahead with the work.

Many Thanks in Advance!!

Getting started:

Adafruit also has a forum where paid employees help with products you have purchased from them. I have used it before and it is great!

If you have trouble with IDE version 1.6.8, download and install 1.6.5.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

I have seen the link you provided -->

But the problem is that I am not able to see the option --> "Contributed" under the board manager , under which we can see adafruit boards !!!

I tried installing version 1.6.4 / 1.6.5/1.6.7 & 1.6.8 and the latest one, but no use.

I am using windows 10 OS .

Can you suggest me what could be the problem? I am so confused and stuck at my work because of this.

Please Help!!

I don't know. I did not have trouble adding the boards to my IDE using the links I gave. I suggest make sure you put the right URL for Additional Boards Manager URLs in the IDE preferences panel. Perhaps you could show some screen shots of your IDE Preferences panel and Boards Manager panel to show us what you see.
You can also search in the Adafruit forum to see if others have the same trouble and what they did to fix.

I hope you have installed the necessary driver required for Windows before using Flora. Also after putting the right URLs, when you plugin your flora, it should come in the boards...

I have posted a response to your cross-post at Flora - Board manager search - #8 by smahadik - Installation & Troubleshooting - Arduino Forum Please don't do that anymore because it wastes people's time from duplicated efforts.

Hi dmjlambert & Chaitanya1 ,

Thank you very much for your reply. The problem is solved. Pert suggested me the solution -->
you need to add https://adafruit.github.io/arduino-board-index/package_adafruit_index.json to File > Preferences > Additional Boards Manager URLs before opening Tools > Board > Boards Manager...

Thanks Pert!

I am able to add Adafruit Flora in Arduino IDE now.

Great..
