not interfacing but i hope you can help - camera

i have my arduino turning my canon camera on and off but now i need to figure out a way to power it. the camera fits tightly into a weather proof enclosure - as long as the power supply isn't plugged in! but i could power it via the battery compartment.

the camera takes 4 AA batteries. most likely two sets of two in parallel to double the voltage. (i think that doubles the voltage.) the external power supply outputs 4.3v, 1.5A.

would it be a better idea to feed 3v rather than 4.3v through the batt compartment?

any other advice? i'm just taking a shot in the dark to find a solution to this problem.

I don't think you can power a standard Arduino with 4.3 V

sorry, "it" meaning the camera, not the arduino. the arduino will get power via usb.
