Not on forum as much lately

Chain gangs do not build highways or bridges.
Nowadays they work in prison factories for about 50 cents an hour to buy overpriced needs like toilet paper and underwear.

Geez I hope you're proud.

After all this is the bar.

Life is a journey not a destination.
You can change the future not the past.
Death is the great equalizer.
Money isn't everything but it sure makes misery more enjoyable.
Winners write (re-write) the history books.
on and on . . . . .

Oh, 500 lawyers at the bottom of the ocean is a good start.

How many lawyers does it take to shingle a roof?

I dunno, How many lawyers does it take to shingle a roof?

Universal Income...It seems like a good idea to me

What are you going to contribute toward the other guy's income? Or do you think you will just lay around and collect welfare paid for by guys like me who are at work. Because if that's the case, I quit.

Zuckerberg shows how simple minded he really is with his stupid, moronic ideas about a universal income.

It Depends On How Thinly You Slice Them. 8)

That's throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

There are; always were; and always will be people who sponge off the system. Systems that adopt an absolutist approach against that always wrap themselves up in so much red tape that you can't actually figure what started it. The drive to prevent spongers creates work for a whole Department. So, not only do we pay the spongers but we also pay the anti-spongers.

And the genuinely needy are especially hurt in all of this.

Most people like to contribute and are willing to cut other people a little slack.

And why not a system that requires everyone to "work" for their universal income. There is plenty of public work to be done such as cleaning parks, mowing the lawn for old folks etc that would improve the local environment for everyone.

It is not just Zuckerberg. Elon Musk thinks there will be no choice but to have a Universal Basic Income;

Experiments are already taking place in several places.

I am not sure who services all the robots and keeps the driverless cars with all their LIDARs, cameras, networks, GPS etc. on the road. However it does seem like fewer and fewer people are going to be able to get decent jobs.

Well, why don't we just get rid of everyone under a certain IQ level, those who have less then 2 million dollars invested, those who have been sick for more than 5 days last year, anyone in law or politics, I am sure we can pick a few religious groups, non beautiful people, all indigenous people, depraved child pornography viewers, drug users, the lawless, over weight people, and anyone who is over the age of 45. In fact let's have a maximum of 10,000,000.

Edit:
Oh, and those who cannot de-bounce a switch.
And, those who can't speak perfect English.

Come to think about it, this could be a movie plot.

Alas it was real. The tidying-up part was in a film called "Patton" with George C Scott
