I would like to wire the 6 action buttons(Dpad, A, B) on a gameboy color to an internal board that will enable each button to trigger a specific MIDI sound (preferrably taken from HALion in Cubase on my windows 7 laptop), without going through my laptop during performance. A Gameboy Color is 75mmx27mmx133mm
From what I can understand I'll need to run each button to a pin (pins 2 through 7) and through a pull-down resistor and power supply for input, but what do I have to do to then make that send MIDI commands? What is the appropriate amount of voltage for this?
Once I get it to send MIDI commands, it seems there will have to be a computer inside the gameboy that can read them, match them up with the right files, and send audio data out of the gameboy.
Am I on the right track with this?
