off arduino

Guys I'm new at arduino as you notice by the topic...

Is it safe to just unplug my arduino when I'm done? I mean, safe for everything involved, or should I hold the rest button before unplug it?

Generally, it doesn't matter and depending what your program does when you start it, reset is't going to achieve much anyway. I generally yank the power with gay abandon when I'm done and haven't noticed any ill effects.

However, you may have hardware being controlled by the Arduino that you want to put into a known state before you shut it down, so a switch to tell the Arduino to stop can be helpful. Just remember though that a power outage may put paid to your plans, so your circuitry should be able to defend against it.

Be sure to cut the red wire first ... or should that be the blue wire?
