Hi All,

Very much off topic question here... breaking all the forum rules!

I am needing to design some mechanical stuff (the guts of an electric hoist) and wanting some help with the calculations for gear ratios etc etc.

However, although I use Reddit, it's nothing like the quality of the community on here and I am wondering if there is a "Arduino Forum" equivalent for mechanical stuff. Ideally a forum that is for all things mechanical as opposed to one just related to lifting gear.

Glad of any suggestions.

Are you looking to buy stuff for the project or to build the stuff for the project?

Both, I would like somewhere I can buy the clutch and motor but I am expecting I will need to make a cradle to bolt it all together.

There are web sites where you can find licensed mechanical engineers that may provide guidance for your project.
