Old remote r/c conversion

My project is nothing ground breaking but I'm trying to convert an old remote for use with an existing project and I was having trouble reading the analog sticks and how to program them was attempting to use with this project which is not mine I'm merely benefiting and modifying https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=http://www.instructables.com/id/RF-Control-System-For-RC-Vehicle-Based-On-Arduino-/&ved=0ahUKEwjRnp2Jqq3OAhXLOSYKHbJcD7QQFggjMAE&usg=AFQjCNH2lPlXMU7UCO-amg8vsy4jSDYqrA&sig2=biiIVY945ZtRhHdZCe2xfw any assistance in the right direction would be helpful attached is the picture of the of the remote in question

I don't see any picture.

The Instructables website is too tedious to study. You need to provide a summary of what information you want us to take from it.

Your description of the problem is very vague.

An R/C system requires an transmitter and a receiver? Which part is broken?

What transmitter are you trying to use with what receiver? Post links to their datasheets - pictures are pretty much useless.

What sort of machine are you trying to control with the R/C system?

Is it an option to replace BOTH the transmitter and receiver?

And for the future, please don't write everything in a single paragraph. It makes it very difficult to read and understand.

Hi,

Sorry but you didn't take a breath when you wrote this. Can you reread your post and rewrite it in a similar form to above. How you request appears also has an effect on who responds to you problem. Thanks... Tom... :)

Posted from a mobile and the formatting is crap, bottom line I have the conversion done, the r/c is working using that instructable but I.wanted to build a better remote,

I found at the salvation army an old mrc-2s-75 transmitter but was having trouble programming the analog sticks the they don’t seem to read like pots, so was seeking advice on how to read that type of pot, if it actually one, but otherwise all other aspects of the project are complete just wanted to build or rather rebuild a remote that was more cleanly finished I only have access to a mobile atm so I apologize for the poor formatting

Morecrabs: I found at the salvation army an old mrc-2s-75 transmitter but was having trouble programming the analog sticks the they don't seem to read like pots, so was seeking advice on how to read that type of pot,

Is this a question that can only be answered by someone who is familiar with the internals of an mrc-2s-75 transmitter? Can you post a link to its datasheet?

I have no idea what you are trying to program the analog sticks with? Do you mean that you are trying to read their values with analogRead() on an Arduino?

If this is not a military secret why not tell us all about it?
