Old Wireless Garage Door Opener

This is in a house I'm renting and I did not get a remote. I noticed a hookup wire and a 10 dip-switch package for setting a code of some sort, so that section of the PCB must be the receiver.

I want to either disable the receiver or actually build/buy a remote. I was looking for the modulation scheme and all I could find was 225MHZ and 375MHZ are also used for Part-15 devices such as garage door openers...

Does anyone happen to know what sorts of schemes were employed about 20-30 years ago?

If the garage door opener already has receiver for remote control, you can buy a kit that has new remote control and new receiver. You replace the old receiver with new one.

I'll have to look at it more closely. The receiver seemed integrated into the main control board, but might be easy to section off and tap in somewhere.

I looked up the kits and they are not that expensive.

If there are open/close physical switches in garage, just use a small relay to jumper them and put in a replacement radio... Take same with you when you move.
