One Standard To Rule Them All

Yeah, but it might start on Arduino next!!

USB C, she ate the Arduino first.

I am sure you all know the story of a woman who lived in a hut in the wilderness of Canada. One day she was visited by a man from the US Geographic Survey who told her that after taking accurate GPS measurements, she was now actually in the USA.
"Thank God for that", she said, "I couldn't stand another one of those cold Canada winters".

Never heard it. That's funny!

So the temperature changed even though the location didn't?? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

7C tonight and currently a very wet 12C here, mid afternoon, in beautiful Ballarat, Central Victoria, Australia.

Spring has sprung, all the puddles are ringed by pollen.
Hay fever begins...

The pavement outside coffee shop this morning.

Nothing better!!

Is it, "spring forward, fall back" or "fall forward, spring back"?

Either way, don't forget to change your smoke alarm batteries.

Change them ?

I always put them back after borrowing them to use to power my Arduino projects for a few hours, so I know that they in good shape :grinning:

:see_no_evil: I didn't read that!

Too late

Once read, never forgotten and, judging by the number of times we see people using PP3 batteries to power Arduinos and even stepper motors, possibly not too far from the truth in some cases

I hope the Arduino enthusiast by virtue of interest in electronics never does this. People need to understand that there's no hope once the smoke level gets beyond a certain point. The stuff in our homes is just so toxic when it burns, paint on the walls, floor finishes, the furniture, all of it.
Once upon a time (pre plastics) it was maybe possible to endure the smoke long enough to escape. That's not the case anymore, without the correct number of smoke and CO alarms. Pets never make it; humans sometimes right behind the exit door.

Wouldn't that make them non-standard?

People !

Make things simple, just replace your PP3 batteries with PP9 batteries !

Edit

They are only $20 and will last until the home burns down.

Naw, use 6 number 6's:

Don't be silly !

That PP9 won't fit in my smoke alarm

I knew that, that’s why you add a JST cable pair to the smoke detector and mount the battery where your wife cannot see it.

 :joy:

At my age I don't see any springs, just the possibility of falls.

Its "Spring Forward and Fall Back."
