Ongoing Arduino Uno & OSX Mavericks communication issue

I was forced to upgrade to OSX Mavericks recently due to the death of my laptop. The replacement laptop came with Mavericks 10.9.2 installed.

I am experiencing the known issue involving Apple's FDTI drivers and can no longer upload code to any of the Arduino Uno boards I have. I have searched out solutions on the web but the ones I have tried (Arduino in OS X 10.9 Mavericks - Serial Port Issues - Installation & Troubleshooting - Arduino Forum and http://stevenbreuls.com/2014/03/fix-ftdi-dmx-interface-arduino-on-osx-10-9-mavericks/) - basically disabling Apple's FDTI driver and installing the most recent drivers from FDTI - have not worked.

So far nothing has worked and my projects are completely stalled as a result. Short of switching from Arduino (or OSX), does anyone know of something else I can try? I am getting rather desperate.

I've had the same problem. Note that the instructions to disable the built-in Apple FTDI driver are unnecessary, Apple intentionally gives their driver a low priority, so if you install the FTDI driver, it'll take precedence. However, that doesn't fix the problem. Arduino internally uses avrdude to load the code, so I tried running avrdude on the command line. Same result, "ser_recv(): programmer is not responding". I notice that Arduino comes with avrdude 5.11 from 2011, so I tried downloading and compiling the latest avrdude (6.0.1) but, while it retries the connection, it still doesn't work. I've tried it with two different FTDI cables, two different FTDI Basic modules from SparkFun, and an FTDI Friend from Adafruit. I also tried downloading the latest nightly build of Arduino, but it didn't work either. So I dug out a genuine Duemilanove, and that worked. So the difference seems to boil down to something between the various FTDI implementations.

I installed Yosemite 10.10 few days ago and didn't arrive to see my arduno uno in tool>port... Only bluetooth...
Itried to install FTDI driver but it doesn't works.
After two days I finally return on the website I bought my card ( ebay) and I saw that in the description of my objet they put a link to download the driver on a Russian website!!!
I tried....and that's it!!! That finally works!!
