Hi guys, I have a TL072 here, and a pressure sensor. What I want to do is try get the most sensitivity from the sensor so I can easily use it with an ADC. Since I am only working with a small pressure range, the voltage is between around 3.8V and 4.1V, so I would like to somehow use an opamp to amplify that range to 0-5V so it can be used with an ADC easily.
This is my first time using opamps, and I am a bit overwhelmed by all the examples out there!
If you only want to use a 5V rail it will require a good op-amp one that can output close tot he voltage rails. Use an inverting amplifier with a gain of 16 with a DC offset trim.
Wire a pot (10K or so) to the 0 and 5V lines and put the wiper in the +ve input of the op amp. Use this to trim the DC offset from the system to be zero or close to it with the pressure sensor producing the minimum output.
Put a 16K resistor from the output to the -ve input. Put a 1K resistor from the -ve input to the output of your pressure sensor.
