Yes, it is a clock. According to the datasheet is it operating at 25mA, but I want to scatter the light with a plexiglas so it will be already less brighter, I don't think I can go below 10mA, and that is still just some hours of work 
Also it would be on the wall so the display switch off is not an option unfortunately
