Opta Wifi Causing LAN Network Issues

Has anyone experienced the Opta Wifi connection interfering the LAN network, causing other devices to stall or fail with their data transmission? Specifically, we have other non-Arduino devices (PLC, iPhone, computers, etc.) connected to a LAN over Wifi and have seen several interruptions and delays once the Opta Wifi is transmitting to the cloud.

Thank you!

Chris

Could you please share the sketch?

This should not happen, if using Ethernet, where are you connecting that, to a HUB, a Switch, directly to your Router (Is it a switch or a hub?)

If you have a hub somewhere in the connection, it might be causing that, it depends on how your network structure is.

The Opta is connected over Wifi to the network router. In the router config, I set the Opta's IP address to be outside the DHCP range using the Opta's MAC address and the problems appear to gone away. The DHCP server has about four to six devices like phones, laptop, etc. connected and there may have been an IP conflict at some point.

Prior to the network going down, I was doing OTA updates to the Opta from a different network.

I won't say that the problem is fully resolved since I don't have the right information to make a determination if this was created by the Opta or the LAN router. I don't know enough about how the Opta requests IP addresses, connects to the network, how all this changes once an OTA is issued, etc. since the Opta goes through a reboot process once the OTA is done.
