Has anybody bricked their Leonardo doing this? If so how do you get back to square one? I was cautiously going through these options to reduce the size of my sketch when I noticed that the PC (win 7 and IDE 1.0.6) was no longer talking to the Leonardo!! and did not show up as the COM4 connection that it had been. So I cant upload any new sketches.
As I have a spare Uno I loaded that with the Arduino ISP and tried to re burn the bootloader to the Leonardo to no avail
Getting the following error message
'avrdude: stk500_program_enable(): protocol error, expect=0x14, resp=0x50
avrdude: initialization failed, rc=-1
Double check connections and try again, or use -F to override
this check.
avrdude: stk500_disable(): protocol error, expect=0x14, resp=0x51'
Also tried to upload another sketch and get this error
'Found programmer: Id = "`"; type =
Software Version = . ; Hardware Version = .
avrdude: error: buffered memory access not supported. Maybe it isn't
a butterfly/AVR109 but a AVR910 device?'
The Link led on the Uno ends up blinking at a fast rate and the sketch on the Leonardo is unchanged
Also tried holding down the reset button on the Leonardo while the sketch was compiling releasing it just as the IDE told me the size of the sketch.
Checked the wiring 5wires ISCP to ISCP all the right way round, Pin 10 on the Uno to Reset on the Leonardo, Capacitor to Ground on the Reset on the Uno
I honestly don't know where to go from here. Has anybody else hit this problem/solved it?
