There are some files to download but none of them appear to be intended for Arduino IDE 2.0. Can one of the old files be used or do they need to be updated? I'm referring to the part which reads "Download this hardware configuration archive: breadboard-1-6-x.zip, Breadboard1-5-x.zip or Breadboard1-0-x.zip depending on which IDE you use."
I'm hoping to program a bare atmega328P using its internal 8 MHz oscillator (no crystal) with a USBAsp.
Hi @longleggedpuertorican. You can use the one named "breadboard-1-6-x.zip". There haven't been any breaking changes to the Arduino boards platform framework since the Arduino IDE 1.6.x version that platform was written for so it will work just as well with Arduino IDE 2.x.
However, my recommendation is to instead use the easier to install and technically superior MiniCore boards platform instead of that "breadboard" platform provided by the download links in the tutorial:
