I accidentally used a 13V power supply (12V is on the Nameplate) to an Arduino Pro Mini 3.3V for few seconds. After that I use a 5V power supply but I notice that the atmel chip and regulator is overheating, I dont know the exact temp but I can't touch it. The regulator still have an output of 3.3V but the input is 4V. It still working but how long it will last on continuous operation?
Its life is limited, best to recycle that board and chalk one up to experience.
