Why use the octal buffer before the MOSFETs? - the opto-isolators can drive the gates direct.

I would always prototype one channel of the system on breadboard or protoboard before commiting to a PCB.

Relace the 2N3904 with the opto transistor if you need to use opto isolation.

Hmm...

Most MOSFETs cannot tolerate 24V on the gate. 20V is a common absolute-maximum for V_GS. Enen a microsecond surge above that maximum wil destroy the device.

Also, what octal buffer works at that voltage?
