Paintball marker counter RF wireless communication help

Hey guys, I am fairly new to the whole Arduino technology/ coding but Im looking to build a paintball counter that uses a beam break Ir sensor to keep count of the number of paintballs that pass through the barrel. However here is where I seem to be stuck I want to have the IR sensors be part of one Arduino board and wirelessly communicate the data to another Arduino board that has a oled display to show the data inside the paintball players helmet and I am unsure whether I can do this with rf receivers and transmitters or if i can achieve this with a piece of bluefruit tech. Any suggestions would be a great help thank you!!!

Current materials i plan on using:

  1. Arduino Zero - 32 bit Cortex M0 Arduino with Debug Interface
  2. IR Break Beam Sensor - 3mm LEDs
  3. 1.8" Color TFT LCD display with MicroSD Card Breakout - ST7735R
    4.On-Off Power Button / Pushbutton Toggle Switch
    5.MicroSD card breakout board+
  4. ARDUINO MKRZERO WITH HEADERS

I am unsure whether I can do this with rf receivers and transmitters

So am I. I do know that I could do it.

or if i can achieve this with a piece of bluefruit tech.

The only piece of blue fruit that I know of is a blueberry. I don't think that they will prove useful.

so are you suggesting that I can use RF transmitters and receivers I'm confused :confused:
