Pairing Arduino BT-V06 to Windows 8.1

Hello,

First of all, I am a complete noob with Arduino, so forgive me if the question is inappropriate.
I just came across an old Arduino BT-V06 and I decided to give it a shot.

I power it up and I can detect it with my Windows 8.1 PC, but when I pair it, after some seconds it automatically shows as not connected. I did change the baud rate in my windows control panel to 115200, but it didn't help.

Has anybody come across this problem?

OK, following up on this, I just found that the computer doesn't need to keep a live connection for this all to work.

It was all good from the beginning, what got me was that the upload wasn't working because I wasn't pressing the reset button at the right time. I was incorrectly blaming WIndows for it.
