"Altium have decided to release their PCB design tool CircuitMaker as open beta. It will be available worldwide to all interested electronics designers, electronic makers and the hobbyist community as a free software offering. "

Hmm. I'm currently in an electronics and programming class. I have found that fritzing is my favorite setup for this

"Native Application" - but they don't seem to want to tell you which platform it is "native" for...
