5 wires per display straight to the Arduino. (iDuino in this case) The rest is all programming.
I'm also not that great on documenting the projects, but I hate the trend of people showing things off via youtube or whatever and not having a single mention of how it was built. So.. here is my mini blog post on it: http://www.82smugglers.com/blog/?p=7
Definitely a very professional looking enclosure.
I am sure not many in your office are odd enough
to come up with a truly useful gadget like this one.
Just remind them that odd takes you into a higher
pay scale : )
Second.. I read the page thinking "I have read this before.. is this guy just claiming credit for someone elses work?". I go to comment on the cool project, and lo and behold! I have already commented! x)

Wow.. I am amazed at how smooth and proffessional the construction looks! Geek cred to you, man, it[ch8217]s always cool to see projects that bring thing from the computer world out into our physical world!
And besides, if I built something like that it would probably be mounted on a piece of cardboard, with generous amounts of ducttape to hold things together.. -_-[ch8217]
