Yes
I believe that your problem is caused by on demand virus checking by McAfee. It opens the file to virus check it when it is created which prevents the compiler/linker accessing it at the same time.
As an experiment log onto the PC with an administrator account and disable on demand checking for a short period of time and try compiling during that time.
