I'm building a robot with a photo resistor mounted on a servo that will allow the robot to move in the direction of the brightest source of light (Photovore). It is listed on the playground section of this site.i'm trying to figure out what i'll need for materials to complete this. I will appreciate all the help.

It would be easier to help if you provided a link to the robot you would like to make.
I also think it would be good if you tried to figure out some of the parts yourself. You could link to items you think would be good to use and we'd let you know if we agree or not.
I'm not really keen on making a list of parts but I'd review a list you came up with and offer suggestions on how the list could be improved.
There is a basic MAKER Arduino robot kit, which just provides a basic steerable robot, and some IR LEDS/sensors to implement a line following algorithm. If you are not intent on building your robot from scratch, that would be easily modifiable to do what you want. Look it up on a Radio Shack website, or from Make magazine.
