Physical output

Hi,

I am very new to Arduino. I am thinking of starting a project involving a touch screen and then a physical output. For example, if a user selects a certain option on screen, this will send a signal for something to push out and press a button.

I presume this is possible with Arduino, so what sort of hardware would I need? (I have the Arduino Uno and starter kit) and what would be the best way to do it or learn how to do it?

Any advice is much appreciated.

Many thanks

RossCobley:
for something to push out and press a button.

You need to provide more information.

What is the button?
How hard is it to push it?
How far must it be pushed?

It is possible that a servo could be used to push your button.

if the button is just a switch then maybe the Arduino could duplicate the action of the switch electrically without needing any mechanical device.
